2009 UAI & SCALING TALK

2009 UAI & SCALING TALK

Saturday, 2 May 2009

Matrix is inviting students and parents to attend our talk on UAI & Scaling.

Many students are unaware of the actual scoring or weighting of their subjects that leads to their final UAI (Universities Admission Index) – and that the UAI is not just a way of measuring a student’s academic ability in particular subjects, but is also based on the so-called scaling of different selected subjects.

The UAI & Scaling Talk on 2nd May 2009 is a comprehensive guide for students and parents on UAI calculation, scaling of subjects, and the relationship between aggregate scores and UAI.

Topics covered include:

  1. What is a UAI?
  2. How are assessment marks determined for each course?
  3. How is my UAI calculated?
  4. Does my subject choice affect my HSC mark and my UAI?
  5. What is scaling and why is it necessary?
  6. What is the relationship between aggregates, percentiles & UAIs?
  7. How can I maximise my UAI?
