LIFE @ UNI - PHYSIOTHERAPY
Tuesday, 28 October 2008
Q: What is your career aspiration?
A: To become a figure who is recognized by all people in the relevant field. A figure who is inspirational
and influential to all career-related people. Specifically, it is to help those people in need.
Q: Describe the difference between high school and university.
A: There is no one to spoon-feed you or collect information for you. It is a very independent world
where you must satisfy your own needs.
Q: Do you have a job? Why did you choose to work and study at the same time?
A: Yes. The financial backing to buy relevant resources is a key factor. However, the fact that you can
gain skills which may become very powerful in your career is also another major facor.
Q: People often say “university is like the HSC twice a year”. Is it true? Do you have any habits
or skills to manage all your workload?
A: Yes and No. The exam periods are always pressured times which seem like the HSC however,
consistent study and preparation throughout the year (which is hardly maintained by most people),
can prevent an overload.
Q: What study habits are important for uni, and for the exam period?
A: Consistency is a key factor. As most people cannot accomplish this, it is more important to
understand the take-home messages of each lecture. If you don’t, then digging up resources to
fins valuable answers is essential before the subject moves onto other topics.
Q: Did you do a lot of research before you enrolled into your course? How can you actively
research what your course is going to be like?
A: Yes. Asking people who are already enrolled in the course about what you expect it to be gears you
in making the right career choice. Jumping into deep waters which you based on instinct and
personal choice without factual backing can prove depressing. You can fall victim to ‘Monday-itis’.
Q: What is a great habit to have during studying at university?
A: Enjoying life and what you do, finding the motivation to keep you going. As always making
study/revision a regular habitual activity.
Q: What have you done to prepare yourself for life in the corporate world?
A: Reading books which explain what skills can prove valuable and how to implement them. Books
always carry invaluable information for your disposal.
