Q: What is your career aspiration?
A: To gain employment in accounting in one of the big 4: Ernst & Young, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Deloitte, KPMG.

Q: Describe the difference between high school and university.
A:  University enables you to tailor timetable to suit your needs, and more flexibility than high school.

Q: What do you love most about your course? What do you dislike?
A:
The Mathematics behind it. Dislike the workload. Assessments can often come in one go, which can lead to procrastination. Don’t assume any course will be easy.

Q: Do you have a job? Why did you choose to work and study at the same time?
A: Private tutoring is not recognized, therefore, working at Matrix gives me the opportunity to do what I’m good at, and also teaches me a lot about employment.

Q: What are some challenges? How do you overcome them?
A: Managing my time is a challenge. There is so much going on around you while you’re at university due
to the significant change in lifestyle and study patterns. I continue to work on my time management skills and finding balance with the main aspects of my life.

Q: People often say “university is like the HSC twice a year”. Is it true? Do you have any habits or skills
to manage all your workload?

A:
Yes, it’s because of the weighting of most assessments. The more the weigh the more pressure you
work under. If you don’t do well in an assessment which weighs, for example 40%, you lose the
opportunity to get good grades, distinction or high distinction.

Q: Did you do a lot of research before you enrolled into your course? How can you actively research
what your course is going to be like?

A:
Initially, I wanted to study Actuarial studies however, from friends and further research I realized it
wasn’t suitable for me. I knew from high school I wanted to be in Commerce.

Q: Do you have a personal secret to success?
A:
Just do what you want to do.

Q: What is a great habit to have during studying at university?
A:
Don’t forget to relax, still need to have a life in between study and working.

Q: What have you done to prepare yourself for life in the corporate word?
A:
From 2nd year of Commerce, you are able to apply for internships. However, because I am going
overseas this year, I am planning to start applying from next year. I am hoping to build my experience by
finding a job in accounting. It is difficult to find a job if you don’t have experience during your studies.
