FREE YEAR 12 AREA OF STUDY- 'BELONGING' LECTURE

Saturday, 14 November 2009

Matrix invites Year 12 students to attend our Area of Study ‘Belonging’ lecture for FREE (valued at over $50) on Saturday, 14 November 2009.

Are you prepared for the Area of Study - 'Belonging'?    Do you know how to:

      • Define and identify the conceptual meaning of ‘Belonging’?
      • Analyse the process of meaning creation and representation in your new Area of Study texts?
      • Effectively evaluate textual form, structure and language?
      • Interpret the thematic links of ‘Belonging’ and ‘Alienation’ between texts?

 On this day you will:
  1. Explore conceptual issues such as social, spatial, historical and cultural belonging, and how they culminate to shape personal belonging.
  2. Identify the deeper philosophical resonances of the Area of Study thematic concern, and how these aspects can be implemented to highlight the expectations of the syllabus rubric and outcomes.
  3. Focus on HOW perceptions and ideas of belonging and alienation are constructed and represented in texts. The application of theoretical concerns will be demonstrated through an analysis of an extract from a potential related text.
  4. Meet our English academic team and learn how you can achieve exceptional marks in English
